SU5000 Swinging-Barrier Optical Turnstile
The SU5000 is the workhorse of Alvarado's optical line and one of the most-installed swinging-barrier turnstiles in North America. The headline feature is the cabinet: it's the slimmest in its class, which matters when you're laying out multiple lanes in a lobby and every inch of floor space counts.
Operation is straightforward for the user. Present a credential, the motorized barrier swings open away from you, walk through. Behind the scenes, the sensor array watches each passage for tailgating, wrong-way entry, and loitering in the lane. The unit is IP-enabled, so we can push configuration changes and custom audio prompts over the network instead of opening cabinets with a laptop.
Three barrier heights cover different security postures, and an optional floor-saver platform means the lanes can be installed without anchoring or trenching — useful in leased spaces or buildings where you can't core the slab. We've put SU5000s in corporate headquarters, hospitals, and government buildings across the Southeast.
